A Diamond in the Rough For Old Blog Posts?
I caught myself staring at the computer today, in one of those blank stares where stuff is rattling around in my head, but I couldn't tell you what exactly. A moment later when I snapped out of it, the idea that rolled out was would anyone notice if I just casually linked a few of my older blog posts on Twitter and tried to pawn them off as new ones? Outside of the date posted, they're still really relevant, and with each passing week there seems to be at least 20 new quality followers I get that could find the topics beneficial.
I probably won't in favor of just creating new content and continue value-adding, but like I said it was just something that rolled out of my head. Linking back to some of my favorite posts is always an option within an article as well if I want you to read it. However it got me thinking anyway - when you click on someone's blog for the newest title they've created, do you ever go back through their older content?
I'd like to think that people get better with age, and they perfect their craft. Afterall, my life's mantra is 'Constant Improvement & Entertainment,' so going back through older stuff isn't something I normally do. Then I think about my favorite authors (or musicians) and sometimes I try to go back and find their earliest works just to read more and get a better sense of their talent. Shouldn't the same thought go for blogs?
So my question to you dear readers, do you find yourself ever digging through any of your favorite bloggers' treasure chests of information and resharing? What older stuff have you found that's still relevant and helpful?
